Poor gut health doesn't always show up in the form Poor gut health doesn't always show up in the form of digestive symptoms and discomfort. It can basically be anything from allergies, autoimmunity and skin issues - right down to just feeling unhappy and overwhelmed. When your gut health is transformed your brain is so thankful - mood, memory and concentration often improve.  80% of your immune system resides in your gastrointestinal tract.  If you struggle to get over a cold or flu, or regularly take antibiotics you will rarely have them when your microbiome is super healthy.

SIBO is a condition that I commonly come across in my clinical practice. Are you trying to reduce the sugar cravings after Are you trying to reduce the sugar cravings after all the festive treats?  Why not try out these salted protein balls as your healthy snack this weekend.  You can curb the cravings by increasing protein and natural fats that are not processed.

👉Salted protein balls (makes 12)

***Ingredients***

💚Dry mix💚 
¾ cup ground almonds
¼ cup protein powder 
¼ cup dessicated coconut 
3 tbsp unsweetened raw cacao powder @nuanaturals
2 tbsp whole chia seeds @chiabiaseed
Large pinch of sea salt

💚 Syrup💚 
¼ cup water
½ cup natural sweetener (Dr Coys Erythritol/Stevia mix @drcoys)
2 tbsp unsalted butter
1 tsp vanilla extract
And
1/4 cup nut butter or tahini
Sesame seeds or dessicated coconut for coating

***Method***

1.	Mix the dry ingredients into a bowl
2.	Add syrup ingredients into a saucepan and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 mins.
3.	Pour the syrup over the dry ingredients then add the nut butter/tahini
4.	Roll the mixture into 12 equally sized balls and coat with desired garnish e.g. dessicated coconut, sesame seeds.
5.	Store in an airtight container for up to 1 week in the fridge or in the freezer for 1 month.
